I'm not afraid to hold my hands up and admit I LOVE a bargain! In particular, an eBay bargain. I'm the type of shopaholic that can name where most items of clothing are from; I'm talking highstreet clothing, not designer... yes I understand this is ridiculously sad but sometimes it works to my advantage. Take this coat, for instance. I've just got back from a trip to Berlin and had decided, before I left, that I wanted to pick up a new, lightweight coat - my H&M teddy coat has been worn to death and I figured it may be slightly too heavy for the Berlin weather... I was spot on there, as it was raining 90% of the time and was no where near cold enough to warrant the teddy coat. As we're approaching Summer I didn't want to pay a ridiculous amount for a coat that I'll only get another month or so wear out of.
Enter eBay... the not so little secret where the most amazing things can be found!

Anyway, I remembered this Topshop coat from last year and thought I'd give eBay a browse and oh yes, there it was! Even better, I paid a wonderful £10 for this brand new (yes BRAND NEW!) Topshop coat. It's a really lovely, lightweight material, in a very spring-like, light brown colour. I love the wrap around detail as I think it looks really laid back and casual but at the same time very minimal and chic (I hate that word! I need a better adjective!!!) I also had a few other coats in mind but I couldn't see these on eBay at the time, but I'm definitely going to keep an eye out. I am constantly checking eBay for things I have seen in the past that I think people may be selling now. It's the perfect place for finding a bargain - and there's nothing always 'second hand' or 'old' about it. I tend to only buy brand new pieces, which just means you're getting such a good deal.

This outfit was my uniform while in Berlin; I travelled with hand luggage so I could only take 1 coat, and I alternated between my black skinny jeans and my black culottes. I took my Nike Roshe trainers and these Topshop pumps (now in the sale). I'm so glad I packed these trainers as they were so comfortable for the days we were doing lots of walking - there's nothing worse than having sore feet from uncomfortable shoes! I felt like I had the perfect combination of casual and dressy. I also proved to myself that I can travel light and it was a real test of my styling skills trying to work a few pieces into 4 days of outfits.
