The Perfect Scent
Friday 19 April 2013 2 comments
Everyone has a scent they are drawn to or have worn for many years. The kind of scent that makes your head turn when you catch a whiff on someone while walking down the street, the kind that brings back memories from your younger days or reminds you of a place or a person. My obsession with Jo Malone started years ago when my mum started wearing their fragrances, the brand became more popular, more people started wearing the fragrances, burning the candles etc. Today the brand is widely known and there are stores in most cities.
My chosen Jo Malone fragrance - Pomegranate Noir.
Fresh, easy to wear whilst slightly dark and spicy at the same time.
There is something very exclusive about their products and the whole shopping experience. The customer service is like no other which encourages you to go back time and time again. Even down the the packaging, they just seem to understand the customer and have got it so right! More recently they brought out a range of more expensive scents which come in at a slightly eye watering price of £95 my mum has collected a few, my personal favourite being the 'Oud and Bergamot'.
Do you have any Jo Malone products? Which is your chosen scent?
Outfit: Splash of Friday night Glamour

You know the kind of week where Friday comes round and all you can think about is your first drink at the pub. I figured this is the perfect outfit, I mean if you're happy to wear sequins to work (why not) then this outfit will see you from day to night. The shoes you can throw in your bag and slip on when 5pm comes round - a pair of black ballet pumps will see you through the day (something simple to tone down the top).
I got this top before Christmas but as it's so statement I haven't worn it that much. I LOVE a stand out piece particularly if it sparkles, this shape and style doesn't seem to age so it's a definite investment. I think I paid about £120 as it was from Topshop's Unique range but I can see myself wearing it for years.
Topshop - Topshop
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - Primark
Bag - Mulberry
Outfit: Springtime Dotty Days

It's Monday and instead of sitting at my desk in work crying in my mug of tea thinking about how wonderful my weekend was I am sat here with the wind in my 'hur, the river flowing past and the sun actually shining. An annual family tradition we have is to spend the week trundling up and down the Kennet and Avon canal on a barge - basically a large Rosie and Jim boat. It's the most relaxed few days I have (minus the parts where we manage to ram ourselves into the bank - not fun). And what with the wonders of modern technology I am able to kick back and relax on board whilst writing this post, clever ey! Come follow me on instagram where you can keep up to date with my daily or maybe hourly ;) uploads, I promise lots of river, swans, pubs and um food.
Anyway back to the real reason you're here. The outfit. I got this blouse about 6 months ago from Nasty Gal, an online American website. Yes the shipping is extortionate but in my opinion so worth it. The stock is different to any other high street retailers and it seems not so many people have jumped on the bandwagon yet. Unlike stock from Topshop and Zara who own the high street these days you're unlikely to see somewhere wearing the same top or dress as you. The necklace is from COS still in store now and the jeans are Topshop. Finally the boots are Zara and the bag is Mulberry.
Check out Nasty Gal HERE!
Happy Monday!

Outfit: A Boyfriend Jean
Wednesday 3 April 2013 14 comments
Another bank holiday outfit - the final one, I promise. After sorting through my 'summer' wardrobe I found a load of items I thought i'd bring back out. These jeans for example were a firm favourite of mine last year, perfect for teaming with a simple vest or baggy tee. They're not very flattering as they're so slouchy but they are very very comfortable. I actually got these while on holiday in Barcelona but there are loads of this 'boyfriend' style around at the moment. The boots are my standard Dune heels, the bag from Zara, hat from H&M this season, leather jacket H&M last season and stud cardigan River Island.
Outfit: Easter Sunday

Whether you celebrate Easter for religious reasons or just as an excuse to eat a lorra lorra chocolate there's no denying it is lovely to have 4 days off work to spend time with family or just generally chilling out. My Easter Sunday consisted of an early morning Church service followed by a family meal in a local restaurant. Perfectly located on Penarth Pier I thought i'd take the opportunity to get a few snaps.
I got this oversized cardigan from H&M about 2 years ago but dug it out the wardrobe this morning. It was such an amazing day I didn't want to wear my super thick coat so settled for this lighter weight cardigan. I seem to be wearing lots of black lately so I thought this black and white animal print cardigan was a good choice to break up the bland outfit - I picked this up from H&M a few days back and at £9.99, I thought it was a bargain and you can't really go wrong. Perfect for throwing over a simple black outfit to create something a bit more exciting.
Hope everyone has had a relaxing few days, I am well and truly full to the brim of chocolate so first stop tomorrow morning..... the gym. Back to reality hey!
P.s is this the beginning of Spring/Summer, finally?!
