Footwear: 'Mike' the Vintage Brogue

I thought I'd do a quick post on my new favourite booties before they start appearing in every single outfit post. I got these from Topshop a few weeks back and I think they're still available on the website - link below.
I'm not sure if it's the versatile colour, the simplicity or the comfort of these boots that I love the most, they haven't left my feet for the past week. These are some seriously good contenders for 'boot of the year' (if that even exists). At £42 I think they are an absolute bargain, they are so comfortable and I have stomped some big time miles in these little fellas already.
ps I don't name my shoes, Topshop named them Mike and I quite like it.
Outfit: The Perfect Blazer
Sunday 30 December 2012 0 comments
Today i'm talking the perfect blazer. I'm all for a bit of razzle dazzle with splashes of colour but sometimes a simple classic blazer is all you need. A staple for every wardrobe. Something that can be worn with various outfits as shown below with a midi dress and also black jeans. This blazer is perfect for when the weather isn't too cold, it serves as a lightweight jacket but also covers the smarter dress codes. This is more of a boyfriend fit as you can see it is very baggy, I think this is extremely flattering as it gives the impression you have a smaller bottom half ;) The tweed colour is also very versatile as it can be worn with any colour. You could even glam it up a little by wearing a fur stole, or dress is down with an oversized thick scarf and a pair of converse.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas if you did a post with Christmas pictures please let me know - I love having a nose!!!

Outfit: Boxing Day
Friday 28 December 2012 11 comments
Just a quick post to show what I wore out on Boxing Day evening. It was my best friends birthday so we went to her house then carried on into town.
Truth be told this dress is about 4 years old but I felt it was time it came back out. Particularly after a very food fuelled few days this dress was perfect as it is so floaty that it hides those extra christmas lbs. I got it from Topshop but I know they bring out a new or similar version each season. It's sort of like a staple piece in my wardrobe.
The shoes are my absolute favourite from ASOS, even though they are very colourful I seem to wear them with everythinggg.
Hope everyone had a wonderfulllll christmas!!

I absolutely love this Christmas Album by 'She And Him' it is something different to your cheesy christmas songs - not saying there's anything wrong with a bit of cheese, in fact i LOVE it. It is nice to hear something quite simple and modern though.

So today was a very slow and quiet day. I had my work christmas party last night so am feeling a little sleepy *ahem* hence the super duper casual outfit. Some may call this my wizard's jacket, okay not some but EVERYONE. Whoever I happen to pass whilst wearing this somewhat large cardigan I get accused of looking like an extra in Harry Potter. Okay I know it's a little cape like but I love it, it's so comfy and cosy. Keeping it casual with my converse but bringing a splash of colour with the red touch.
I'm off to watch Love Actually with 8 days worth of advent calendar chocolate in bed...!
4 SLEEPS PEOPLE, 4 SLEEPS!!!! *skips to bed.

Today I bring to the table a family favourite. I remember as a youngster my Auntie trying to teach me the lyrics now every time I hear this song it triggers memories of happy family times.

Today's choice is an absolute classic, okay you either love it or you hate it but at this festive time of year nothing beats a bit of cheese..... right?! It also reminds me of my favourite christmas film 'love actually'.

I am so obsessed with this Leopard print blazer, I got it from River Island in the sale - not too long ago. I have definitely got my money's worth! Leopard print can sometimes be quite hard to wear, there's a chance it can look cheap - I've tried to keep it toned down by wearing a simple grey nepp peplum with black skinny jeans. My boots are also my standard smart black suede boots from Dune.
Sometimes a statement blazer or jacket is all you need, the rest can be completely simple but your outfit is made.
I kinda feel like I should be wearing a christmas jumper everyday this week or atleast a bit of sparkle, maybe on my last few days in work I will.
I am feeling very festive right now, after a christmas meal with friends, a weekend in london with my uni friends, a work chrimbo buffet and a work christmas dinner I feel fully content at the fact the big day is 5 sleeps away..... YUP 5 DAYS!!! *note to self, must start christmas shopping.

So a last minute little feature for the blog between now and Christmas day I plan to bring you 7 of my favourite Christmas songs. After a conversation with friends I realised there are SO many classic christmas tunes and I simple could not choose a favourite.
What is your ultimate christmas song, is there a record that leaves you feeling particularly festive?
So I only heard today's choice yesterday whilst driving home from town - I had somehow forgotten about it but once it came on the radio I suddenly felt like christmas was just around the corner... *okay I know it is but I think I have been living in denial and am yet to do any christmas shopping.
Coldplay are one of my favourite bands so put Chris Martin with a Christmas jingle and I am one happy gal.

That's why her hair is so big.... because it's full of secrets.
Sorry.
Today's outfit includes alllorrraa lorrra hair - I used the batiste dry shampoo and it's rather volumising. Today's dress is a midi from Topshop I love it as it's so versatile, you can wear it with anything. Sometimes I dress is down with a baggy cardigan and converse or I dress it up with some smart suede boots. I also like to wear a waist belt to create a little more shape to the outfit.

Here it is - Monday morning.
Monday morning spent yawning....
Sometimes you have to forget it's Monday and be thankful for what a wonderful weekend you have just had - andddd it is so nearly Christmas. So in honour of making today a happy one I am wearing my top with a little positive slogan on it. Yup i've worn it before, I actually really like this top so am well and truly getting some wear out of it.
Hope you all had a fabuloussss weekend. Head up, tomorrow is Tuesday and it's all uphill from there. Right?!?

A Saturday evening out means I can wear a skirt and sandals even though it's the winter and nobody will judge me - kinda. I'm off out for dinner so this is an easy 'go to' outfit. Quite casual on top but the splash of colour from the skirt and the wedge heal creates something a little more sophisticated.
I LOVE SATURDAYSSSS.

So it's Friiiiiday - woop.
Can you tell i'm happy?! Friday calls for a bright bright cardi with red converse. This is a super casual outfit, very comfortable but a little fun. The cardigan is really old and is from Motel. The top (which you can't really see) is an asymmetric one shouldered baggy top from topshop and the jeans are also from topshop (Leigh).
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend - i'm off to London for a few days to see my best friends from uni and I literally cannot wait!!!!!

Below is today's outfit. Quite simple - this is a dress I got from ASOS a while back. The slip (or embellished part) is detachable so I often wear it with other dresses, this is the actual top it is supposed to go with though. I add the waist belt as the grey top is quite shapeless without it. The boots are last year River Islands and I swear they nearly have holes in the bottom I wear them so much!!! I wore this with a black leather jacket and was absolutely freezing so next time I would opt for my fur coat. The things we do in the name of fashion ayee.

Below are a few pictures from the week just gone... What started as a very quiet week consisting of mainly work, slowly but surely turned into a fun filled weekend. I had a lovely night out on Friday with lots of friends from Uni which then resulted in a very slow Saturday including a lovely lunch at the cosy club a new restaurant in Cardiff. On Sunday I went to Bath for the day and did a bit of Christmas shopping. There was such a festive atmosphere around, everyone was very very happy. I then had Jamie's for lunch on Sunday which is always amazing.
Oh, and I bought dungarees and am completely in love with them - am I crazy?!?
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend, on the plus side - it's half way through the week already!!!

Sorry I have been MIA this week, my camera took a tumble so spent the week in Nikon hospital. Therefore this week I shall now bombard you with posts :)
Here's today's outfit, I know what you're thinking 'it's minus 5 outside and this girl is wearing a sleevless dress'. Well calm yourselves - I wore a lovely thick fluffy cardigan.... but forgot to photograph it. This is a dress I wore out once so now wear as a top in the daytime with jeans or whatever I fancy. It's shapeless so quite flattering as it doesn't cling anywhere. The jeans are my simple Topshop Leighs and my boots are last year River Island's.
I have to confess I am absolutely loving the cold weather, I know it is horrible when you aren't prepared but when you're all bundled up in thick warm cosy scarf, hat, gloves and coat there's no better feeling. Hope everyone is getting ready for chrimbo - my office is literally full of chocolate, cake and mince pies - I fear my first year in full time work will be a heavy one. Ooops.

So let's face it... nobody particularly enjoys an early morning Monday. After a lovely relaxing weekend who wants to get up at 6am?!? Not me huh. So I figured this top was Perrrrfect for today - the kinda day you need a little more of a push, a bit of motivation. I'm all for a good quote and I think this suits today, basically don't stress and take it easy. It's only Monday after all.
The top is from Monki, I got it off the website a while back. The skirt is from Topshop which I have featured a few times before and the gold jumper is from h&m. Now it's December it is perfectly acceptable to wear a glitter jumper in the day right?!
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and is ready for this week ahead.
Positive mental attitude!!!
22 days till Christmassssss - not that i'm counting down or anything....
Outfit: Bin Bag Glam

This is Wednesday. You know the days you wake up and want to wear the baggiest most comfy item of clothing you own? Today's the day! This is a COS dress I have had for a couple of years now but is such amazing quality it has lasted so well. It's a lovely stretchy fabric so super comfy. I tried to jazz this outfit up slightly by wearing an embellished slip which I have removed from as ASOS dress - I'm sure it will appear on the blog soon. The slip is really heavy but I love it as it adds a touch of glamour to a some what drab outfit. Again i'm wearing my trusty suede Dune boots that I seem to wear everyday.

Today's posts brings this seasons must have trend of the animal print shirt. There has been so much of this around, Zara to name one has had an amazing array of animal prints. I thought I would go for something a little more budget so I picked this up from Primark. With high fashion items which you know will be in and out in a season I find it's sometimes not worth spending the higher price points. The jeans are my classic Topshop Leigh jeans in a dark blue colour and the boots are black suede Dune boots.
This is quite a simple outfit but a shirt and heel always seems to smarten a look.
What animal print shirts or items of clothing have you invested in this season??

This is my Monday outfit - you might have picked up on the fact I LOVE a good striped tee. I figured with this outfit the baggy jeans and stripe tee are very casual but by teaming it with these Dune high suede boots and the Topshop embellished jacket it makes the outfit look a little more smart and more acceptable for the office.
Again I can only apologise for the lighting, I need to invest in some proper studio lighting as I know the quality looks horrendous.

By 5pm on a Sunday I am already wishing away my week to Friday - quite sad really. This week has been busy in work with a few lovely evenings in between. I managed to get to the new 'cosy club' which opened in Cardiff this week - I had a chicken and chorizo salad which was great, next time i'm going to try a few tapas style dishes. It is definitely going to be a new favourite of mine. I also went to Bills, for a second time on Sunday which was amazing. This weekend I have been poorly so literally stayed in and baked shortbread, watched the rugby and lots more TV. Not much else to report, I am starting my christmas shopping this week and am determined to be both creative and organised. Slowly but surely I am starting to get that christmas feeling, the christmas lights are up in my city centre which always makes everywhere look so much more magical.
Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend - grotty weather aye, theres only one thing for it, XFACTOR + FOOD.
Christmas Gift Guide For Her...
Saturday 24 November 2012 4 comments
It's November the 24th so I debated this being far too early for a Christmas related post - that was until I was walking through town and all I could hear was the echo of christmas songs. The lights were illuminated throughout the city centre and there was a chill in the air. I am now happily accepting of the fact christmas is on it's way. Que the christmas hype, get the mince pies in the oven. I thought I would start my christmas series with a little gift guide for her.
This guide to be honest is pretty fool proof - it can be so hard to buy presents for people but sometimes you just need a little nudge in the right direction.
1. These blue and white stripe PJ's are from Toast. In my opinion you simply cannot go wrong, Christmas is a time when you like to recieve items which I would call essentials. They are lovely and thick perfect for the winter months.
2. This cable knit throw is an absolute bargain at £20 from tesco, yes you heard tesco. It is still available in store now and is the perfect gift for christmas. Something you can throw on your bed or sofa while watching christmas films and get rather snuggly.
3. The owl pen pot is a little stocking filler - everyone likes things that look cute, right?!
4. The ring is from Whistles but online at ASOS, the colour is lovely and is a bargain at £8.
5. Topshop are known for doing a wonderful range of easy make up peices - again you could pretty much pick anything from the collection and I'm sure the person recieveing the gift would love it. I particularly like this lipstick and glitter varnish.
6. These navy blue converse are a classic - almost a staple for any girls wardrobe. Show some imagination by steering clear of the white ones, it looks like you thought long and hard but still managed to choose a versatile colour ;)
7. Finally these really sweet grey mittens are from ASOS and a great price are £8.
If you have started your christmas shopping keep an eye out on ASOS as they keep doing their 20% off for students offer, if you are a student that would be a great time to pick up all your prezzies.

Okay, I have tired eyes and the lighting is horrendous but you can see what i'm wearing right? I take most of my blog pictures before work which is normally about 7am so it's kinda hard to look properly awake sometimes ;)
This is a very simple outfit - all black with a statement blazer and silver necklace. The jacket is from Topshop - I got it in the summer sale but you may be able to find it knocking around on eBay somewhere. I am also wearing my winter riding style boots with black Topshop Leigh jeans.
Happy Monday ya'll xo
Outfit: Converse and Sparkles
Saturday 17 November 2012 7 comments
It's Saturday so I am super duper chilled - can ya tell? Today was relaxed I went to Starbucks, did a bit of shopping, baked a cake - obviously ;) I am now off on a night out for my best friends birthday, I'm not wearing the above, I promise. I shall be changing into something with a bit more sparkle.
The outfit above consists of simples Converse and Topshop Leigh skinny jeans. I have then jazzed this outfit up slightly with this grey cardigan from River Island which has sparkly diamond studs all over. I love an outfit that is really casual but has a touch of detail like this cardigan - it is still in store and I think cost around £35 - perfect for this time of year in the run up to Christmas. The top is a one shoulder baggy number from Topshop and cost about £18 - extremely versatile.
The necklace, although slightly scary looking is a great statement peice - it's from ASOS and here is the link.
Happy Saturday - I will be spending tomorrow in bed catching up on Xfactor, oh yess!
Outfit: Gold Feet
Friday 16 November 2012 4 comments
This is my Friday outfit - my gold christmas Brogues are out and I am sporting some very bright florals. Brightening up the end of my week. This floral blouse is from Zara - I got it a few months back and it is slightly summery but sometimes I don't like to abide by the seasonal trends and colours. The cardigan is from H&M and it is the fluffy effect that seems to be in all stores all of a sudden. The jeans are classic Topshop Leighs and the hat is from H&M (great for a bad hair day). Finally I have dug out these gold little bad boys which were an absolute bargain from Primark and cost a whole £1 - maybe that's for a good reason but I love them and at Christmas I love a bit of metallic and sparkle!
Have a great weekend!!! xo
Outfit: Dotty
Wednesday 14 November 2012 0 comments
Yay mid week post - it's Wednesday!
Another simple outfit - Topshop Leigh jeans with a Topshop Dotty print blouse. I have also added a simple beaded necklace which is from COS.
This season I have found myself gravitating towards the simple blouse and skinny jean combo - it's so easy and doesn't involve much thought before 6am on a week day morning. Sometimes all you need is a necklace, scarf or jazzy cardigan to brighten up a simple outfit. And of course I have the River Island winter booties on.
Hope everyone is having a good week!!
Outfit: Add Some Colour
Tuesday 13 November 2012 2 comments
Today's outfit is a waterfall hem top from River Island with floral print trousers from Topshop. It's sometimes nice to wear something a bit colourful when it's so dull outside. Also wearing my standard 'go to' necklace from Mango. Finally my staple winter boot from River Island - they have a small heel so I feel slightly more dressed up than a flat Chelsea boot.
Winter Warmers: Part 3
Monday 12 November 2012 0 comments
The final part of my winter warmers looks at the trend aspect of this winter. With a plethora of different trends gracing the catwalk for AW12 there were a few styles which really stood out. Faux fur has been in a out for many years but this year it is definitely at the forefront. In my opinion a bit of fur can really make an outfit - something quite simple and understated can be transformed with a fur hat or fur shawl - I love the fur shawl below - this can be worn over any coat or jacket giving you lots of different looks.
This season we have also seen the animal print trend everywhere - particularly on blouses. The fox print scarf below from topshop brings a bit of lighthearted humour to an outfit. Finally the military trend which consists of a combination of leather, camo, chains, studs, spikes adding masculinity to any look.
What are your winter accessory must haves this season?

My saturday was quite a chilled one this weekend, I baked a cake and watched too much tv. I did however leave my house just once to pop to the local shop - hence the very casual outfit. The weather was horrible, it was raining and cold therefore I covered up as much as possible. This jumper is an old purchase from Topshop but I seem to wear it year after year, it is so comfortable and can be worn with jeans or as a dress with thick tights as it is quite long. The military style jacket is from Topshop and the moccasin boots are from ASOS. I got this silver choker style necklace from MANGO a few months ago but still feel like I wear it everyday, it is so simple and goes with literally every outfit!
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend :)

I changed my hat, did ya notice?!
It's Friday, i'm happy, smilin' and cannot wait for the weekend so I can bake too many cake, eat to many cakes and then drift in and out of consciousness while I slather my face in a silky smooth moisturiser whilst watching the x factor - oh so rock and roll. I seriously need to calm the hell down.
Wow so much rambling. Today's outfit is quite a dark little number. I am doing what I always vow not to do - wearing a black top with black jeans, but hey the boots are brown and the jacket is.... er leopard ;)
I do love a bit of animal print but whenever it comes out I feel the need to calm down the rest of my outfit - I love this jacket though, I got it in the River Island mid season sale and I think it is one of my favourite purchases this year. Granted I can't wear it with an awful lot and it is dry clean only which drives me mental but it's all good.
In this post I sport two different hats - one is my primark favourite, I'm not sure if they still have it I got this years ago but they probably re invent it each season. The second I got from ASOS last year - they both keep my so so warm I love them, adding a bit of posh to my outfit.... maybe.
Happy Weekend!
Winter Warmers: Part 2
Thursday 8 November 2012 0 comments
Today I put forward my pick of this seasons more glamorous winter accessories. Sometimes it's easy to assume looking great means you can't feel warm, comfortable or 'yourself' this assumption is so very wrong. My most worn winter accessory is definitely a fur hat I bought from Primark for £5 over 2 years ago - you are guaranteed to see that in some up and coming outfit posts. This hat is literally the hat of all hats, I wear it with anything and everything - no exaggeration. And yes it does make me look like I made a bit of an effort although this is sometimes such a lie as the mess that lies underneath the hat (hair) is often something to be desired. There is something quite sophisticated about a bit of fur.
Anyway below I have included my selection. All glamorous items which would probably be worn best with a more dressy outfit - or even better dress an outfit up with your winter accessories. A simple skinny jean and thick winter coat can be made oh so glam with these stud gloves and this amazingly fluffy snood. All links for the below products can be found at the bottom of the post.
Don't sacrifice style for what you think is the warmest winter accessories ;)
Leather Gloves £45 Fluffy Snood £15 Stud Gloves £35 Fur Headband £16 Fur Hat £15 Embellished Scarf £35

It's Wednesday - that's closer to Friday than yesterday wohoo.
Everyone has those pieces they turn to when they can't be bothered thinking up an outfit. When it's 6.30am all I can think about is what time I can crawl back into bed after work. This morning I went for one of my safe options. I am a self confessed stripe hoarder - I literally have 15-20 striped tops and dresses. In my opinion stripes are classic and can be worn all year round. I got this dress in the summer from River Island and was wearing it with tan sandals however I have managed to bring it through to Autumn by adding some thick black tights and my trusty black riding boots. I threw my boyfriend style denim jacket over the top - when i'm wearing something quite fitted I always like to wear a baggy cardigan or coat over the top.
The necklace is a primark bargain I got months ago but still wear alllll the time and the belt is an old old old purchase from H&M.
And the hair.... it needs a wash!
Winter Warmers: Part 1
Tuesday 6 November 2012 0 comments
You know the kinda morning where you poke your toe out from underneath your duvet and the cold hits you, you run to the shower faster than your sleepy little legs can carry you, then you open the front door to leave for work and the ice cold air comes at you just as you've warmed up with your morning cuppa. By the time you have walked to work you literally cannot feel your face and you worry about the state your poor little red nose will be in. This is the kinda day i'm talking about.
Today I bring to you part 1 of my three part winter special. I figure there are different types of winter wear, the glamorous kind that you feel great in, you don't mind who sees you because no matter how cold you are - you look fabulous. Then there's the second kind, it keeps you warm and your rocking the latest colours, maybe some khaki, a bit of maroon and maybe a bit of stud or fur. Then finally theres the kind I bring to you today - the still looking quite trendy but you really couldn't care less and you just want to hide away under your duvet or in your onesie in front of the fire. You are so cold you want to wrap your whole scarf around your face 9 times. You don't want to see anyone because your make up has frozen off and let's face it you have hat hair so this big fluffy bobble hat ain't comin' off!!!! Autumn/Winter are definitely my favourite seasons as I love love love wrapping up super duper warm and as long as you are wrapped up theres nothing stopping ya!
So above are my picks of this Autumn Winter's high street winter warmers. All of which are very simple, classic and can be thrown on over anything. The colours are all very warm and all have a snug look to them. Imagine a Saturday morning walk around the park with the crunchy leaves Autumn always promises - all of the above are guaranteed to keep those little body parts warm and happy. I have popped the links for all of the above underneath.
Rib Boyfriend Beanie £7 Knitted Wool Snood £29 Basic Mittens £6 Cable Mittens £10 Tassel Scarf £16 Oatmeal Scarf £15
....stay tuned for part 2 :)
