Having moved to London I am exploring the city travelling about seeing what this place has to offer. This means eating out a lot, therefore I thought it would be cool to document some of the places I visit. Whenever I go somewhere new I always google blog reviews of local places to give me an idea of where to go. So if I ever visit somewhere I think is worth recommending I will pop a little post up here.

So last week I had 5 interviews in 3 days, this meant I was basically running around London jumping on tube after tube. My Iphone was literally my saviour, the map on that thing is seriously amazing. So anyway this meant between interviews I maybe had an hour or so to kill therefore ended up wandering around each area. On Monday I found myself in East London with some spare time, when in London I tend to wander until I find something that stands out to me, this happens a lot as I am so nosey and take pictures of literally EVERYTHING. Having found where my interview was I thought I would have a gander around, then I found this little café/restaurant/bar. What some would call the rose between two thorns. This little café was on a road mainly consisting of furniture shops and newsagents, a hidden gem. To be honest I wasn’t really looking for somewhere to eat or drink but found myself sat at this table ordering a Latte and a croissant – granted I hadn’t had breakfast so was starving. And before you ask, no I literally have no problem wandering round, stopping for coffee, taking pictures on my own. There is something quite liberating about sitting in a café alone, I end up writing or reading – I find it very relaxing.

So this café was called ‘This Bright Field’ it has recently been re branded so everything in the restaurant is brand new (so one of the locals told me), it was previously half café half florist (the thought of this sounds perfect to me but obviously something wasn’t working). The wooden floor with the white tiles around the till and kitchen area compliment eachother creating a very natural yet open space. The kitchen is open plan so you can see the chef at work. I only stopped for a Coffee but they offer lunch and dinner and I did have a cheeky nose at the lunch menu which looked amazing. There are a few big brown leather chairs towards the back of the café with lots of seating which consists of beautifully thrown together miss matched chairs and tables. There is a vintage feel about the place.

I would definitely recommend this place if you are ever in the area – the nearest tube was Bethnal green and was about a 10 minute walk from there, the address is; 'Cambridge Heath Road' - and this is their twitter. I will certainly be back for a proper meal in the evening sometime.
