A new year means a new feature to Talk Ffashion; I'm going to try and do a hair or face post once a week. I'm quite lazy when it comes to hair and makeup but a sort of beauty resolution of mine is to make more effort with both haircare and beauty. Therefore I will be doing some posts on hair styles and make up I create for different occasions, be it everyday in work or a night out with friends.

Here is this weeks offering, a simple messy curl look. This is the sort of style you can create on a Monday and leave to slowly drop out over the week until you have a wavy beach finish by Wednesday (with the help of a little dry shampoo). A lazy girls hair routine, okay so I forgot my beauty resolution of making more effort but everyone loves a simple style that looks like you could have put a bit of thought and effort into the outcome right!? I must point out I am due a trip to the hairdressers but my roots are nearly at a point now where they kind of look deliberate ;)

I wash my hair with a variety of different products and brands, todays choice was the Aveda Shampoo and Conditioner for damaged hair, I did a blog post on this here. I still stand by my word that this is an amazing product, perfect for hair that needs a little extra love (these locks of mine have seen their fair share of bleach over the years.)

The key to curling your hair is to wait until you are on second day hair (the day after you wash it) otherwise the curls will just fall out as your hair will be too silky. I used my GHD's to create the below look, it literally takes me 4 minutes on each side, I just roughly curl a thick section at a time. If I wanted a more neat and polished curl I would section my hair properly ensuring each piece was perfect, the less hair you use the more defined curl you will achieve. I wanted a more lose relaxed curl so used larger sections.

What do you guys think of the new feature?

Happy Saturday! x

  1. I love your hair, so long and thick, my hair is long too but very thin!
