So it's been an experimental year for me in the world of beauty. At the start of 2013 I feel like I was a Johnsons face wipe with a layer of Origins before bed & the most simple 5 product makeup routine kinda gal. This year I have discovered so many wonderful brands; Emma Hardie, Liz Earle, Sarah Chapman, Aesop and Kevyn Aucoin to name a few. It was hard for me to sort the good from the great but I've given it a go. My 2013 beauty favourites...

1. ESSIE - Master plan. I absolutely love this colour, a warm neutral perfect for all months of the year. I've been sporting this the past two weeks with a layer of Essie's silver glitter polish on top. Perfect for the party season, the lasting power of this polish is also seriously impressive.

2. By Terry - Baume De Rose. The holy grail of lip care products. This sits on my bedside and I apply every night without fail. It's nourishing, soothing but also perfect for a natural make up day with the light pink finish.

3. NARS - Laguna. The bronzer of all bronzers. The only one I ever really use, a light dusting day to day or build it up for a night out. A natural bronze colour with no risk of any orange hues.

4. Bobbi Brown - Smokey Warm Eye Palette. A recent addition to my make up collection and it's definitely here to stay. With a shade for every occasion I find these colours really versatile, leaving the perfect finish with no creasing on the eye lid throughout the day.

5. Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation. I've been using this for well over a year now and there simply isn't anything that lives up to this. A gorgeous glowing finish with easy blend-able application. I like a heavier fuller coverage foundation but for those who like a lighter finish just by using a small amount you will create a beautiful natural finish.

6. Clinique - Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm. This sits pretty in my handbag for daily use. Easy to apply leaving a beautiful natural rose pink, with immediate moisturisation

7. Moroccanoil Oil Treatment. The only reason I can get a brush through my hair every morning, this product is literally like gold dust. I have long thick hair which has seen it's fair share of bleach over the years but with a small application of Moroccan oil after each hair wash I am good to go. Leaving a silky smooth finish with a gorgeous shine.

8. Bumble And Bumble Mending Shampoo + Conditioner. I have nothing but good things to say about these two products. You only need the smallest amount to create those fresh flowing glossy locks. I pick this up in my local boots store whenever I have advantage points to spend.

9. Escentric Molecule 01. Probably my favourite discovery of the year, this is the most amazing smelling perfume I have ever found. This perfume is said to have more of an effect on the people around you who pick up the scent, like all perfumes it also smells different on everyone but there is a definite warm woody scent. I picked this up off Cult Beauty but I think it is available in Selfridges stores too if you wanted to try before you buy.

10. Origins - A Perfect World, Antioxidant Moisturizer With White Tea. If I was to tell you this is at least my 10th pot of this stuff would you believe me that it was holy grail material? Seriously this stuff is insane, so moisturizing, refreshing and comforting. The smell is absolutely gorgeous and my evening skincare routine is not complete without a generous layer of this slathered on.

11. Bioderma. Finally last but not least is this, a gentle cleanser for all skin types perfect for removing makeup. Bioderma soothes and cleans skin at the same time, also amazing for removing eye make up.

  2. I feel like last year I was a baby wipes and simple make up routine kinda girl. I'm really hoping that I'll finally start trying new products and brands this year. I definitely want to try Bioderma and some Bumble & Bumble items - I will need to take the plunge in 2014 and just buy them.
Happy New Year and all the best for 2014!
