It’s been nearly a year since I moved into my beautiful little flat , 362 days to be precise, and as wonderful as London life is it comes at a cost… And that cost is wardrobe space, or the lack of. Before I moved to London I had 2 large wardrobes along with 6 rails of clothing, excessive I would agree however going from this to one tiny £30 wardrobe from Ikea has been quite the shock. But a year later and I’m kind of loving it. The fact I know I need to love every single piece in my wardrobe, I have to make really definite decisions on if I like an item of clothing or LOVE it. Every few months I take a look in my wardrobe and if there’s something that hasn’t been worn for 6 months it goes to the charity shop.

I seem to have digressed but my point is my main weakness used to be coats, I think I had about 30… and now my coat rack will hold around 7/8 before it collapses; which may still seem like a lot but it means there’s a strict one in one out policy. And the first ‘in’ of the season is this bloody amazing yeti style fur coat from Topshop. I’ve been eyeing it up on the website for a while and It’s been the one item of clothing I keep thinking about buying. When you can’t stop thinking about something you know It’s got to be a good investment and you know you’ll wear it loads, right?! So I caved and picked it up and I am in love with it. Okay I stand out like a sore thumb on my 7am commute from North to East London sitting on the tube amongst all the suits but I’m okay with that. And the other thing I love about the coat is the fact the rest of your outfit has to be really plain and simple or you look a bit mental, actually thinking about it maybe teaming leopard print jumper with this was slightly OTT? Maybe I’ve been taking too much inspo from my favourite lady Iris Apfel, whenever I’m not sure if I should wear something I think to myself, much like Beyonce ‘what would Iris do?’
