Just as I thought i'd escaped the torment of Coachella the second weekend rolls around and my instagram feed is once again inundated with pictures of crowds of people enjoying the sunshine listening to music and just generally having a super duper fun time. This got me seriously dreaming of the summer, my favourite thing about the summer is festivals. One year I will get out there to experience it for myself but for now I will dream via instagram and stick with my two favourite festivals Glastonbury and Greenman.

Today I thought I would give you a run down of my festival fashion inspirations at the moment. I'm going to do this as a three part series as there is lots to show and also it's only the beginning of summer so there will be loads more lovely things coming to stores/online in the next few months. I'll do an April, May and June post.

These are the sort of things I will be looking to pack come June time when I am prepping for Glastonbury. The key to festivals is to take as little as possible as you have to carry EVERYTHING and walk for what feels like hours and hours before you reach your final destination where you set up camp (it's probably only about 25 minutes). This means being wise with your outfit choices and really planning each day out. If you're not one for outfit planning this should be one time where you actually bother - there is nothing worse than taking too much with you and struggling to carry it all - but at the same time, if you don't take enough and the weather is bad you could be stuck in soggy clothes for 4 days.

So below are my choices so far this SS14. I have put links to everything below the image.

River Island Leg Harness - Bring something a little fun to an outfit with this gold leg chain.

ASOS Backpack - The perfect size bag for lugging around your drinks - alocoholic or non-alcoholic, you decide ;) you can also fit necessities like sun cream, camera, money etc. You do have to be careful as there are always going to be pick pockets about so a back pack isn't always the safest option (unless you're not carrying any valuables).

Converse and Birkenstocks - In my opinion footwear can make or break a festival experience. You really need to be comfortable as you will do so much walking around. Obviously these two choices are for if the weather is nice, in part 2 i'll show you my choice for wet weather. Converse are a classic choice, easy to wear and go with everything! I know Birkenstocks are slightly controversial, you either love them or you hate them - I happen to love them so will definitely be packing mine - they are so so comfortable.

Zara Stripe Dress - An absolute wardrobe staple, simple and you don't need to think about it. Throw this on with your converse, the leg chain and some big ass sunnies and you're good to go. And if you don't fancy brushing your hair - chuck on the fedora!!

Topshop Sunglasses - The bigger the better, by day 3 you may be slightly tired and want to cover those baggy eyes!

Whistles Gold Daisy Skirt - My favourite Spring Summer item on the high street so far this year. I am obsessed with this skirt and will definitely be packing this for Glastonbury. Recently sported by Suki Waterhouse (shout out if you read the Daily Mail *hangs head in shame*). This skirt is such a statement item, worn with a simple black top and black birkenstocks and again, big ass sunnies!

ASOS Fedora - I am loving this lilac fedora from ASOS. Something a little different to the usual black and tan and the perfect summer colour! This will be a life saver by day 3 when you reeeeally want to wash your hair!

Zara Floral Crop Top - And last but not least is this Zara floral crop top - perfect for teaming with a pair of denim shorts and the leg chain - adding a splash of colour.

Sorry this post turned into a bit of a ramble, it's clearly a subject i'm rather fond of!
