These snaps were taken a few weeks back but I am only just getting round to posting them (rubbish blogger). When in London we have a place to stay in the Nottinghill area so we always spend a day wandering along the canal ending up on Portobello road. It's the perfect place to wander, so much life on one street, theres a real hussle and bussle atmosphere with market stalls, places to eat, high street shops and street performers. You can spend a good few hours just people watching which is my favourite thing to do.
This amazing building is on our route from the flat to Portobello road - every time we walk past we talk about how amazing it is, it holds some kind of record and was designed by a famous architect but obviously I can't remember who ;)
The electric cinema is an absolute must if you are visiting London for the first time (or if you've never been before). An old fashioned cinema with sofas and side lamps full of character and charm. You will never want to go to a vue or odeon again once you've experienced this!
My brother and Izzy sitting outside Toast while my mum has a look. A bench outside a store - great idea, everyone is happy (except Jack, he doesn't look happy...)
Westbourne Grove is also walking distance from where we stay so we tend to grab breakfast or lunch in the area. Granger & co. is a good shout if you're ever around here!
On the Saturday night we went down to the Southbank to watch Limbo which was the headline act for London Wonderground, Udder Belly festival. While waiting for the production to start we sat outside where there was a circus theme running throughout, bumper cars used for tables and chairs, The Golden Barrel bar, food stalls and lots of other fun things to see. Limbo is a circus production which includes some seriously impressive stunts, some very flexible people and great music. I was hesitant to begin with as the crowd sit in a circle around the stage and the performers move all around the crowd. Now, crowd participation makes me very anxious and is my idea of hell, luckily they don't really interact with you and once I had calmed down I really enjoyed the production. Well worth a watch if they come back next year or if they are on tour anywhere else.
