'A kind of Jewish deli, with cocktails'

If you're looking for somewhere a little different, with a unique menu and tones of character i've found the place. The atmosphere is chilled and the waiters/waitresses are super friendly. It has a kind of American diner / barber shop feel to it, retro with modern twists. Black and white chequered tiles, red faux leather booths, old fashioned napkin dispensers, striped back brick walls and an old fashioned original pencil sharpener.... I know, right.

As a regular little attendee of Spuntino in Soho this weekend we took a jaunt to one of their 'sister' restaurants Mishkin's. I knew we were onto a winner and I was not dissapointed. Spuntino is a firm favourite of mine, a small 25 seats (I guess) huddled around the bar offering a mix of unusual, interesting and delicious snack size portions. I will definitely do a review of it next time I have my camera with me.

Anyway I digress, I had heard of Mishkins through Spuntino so thought it was worth a go. It was Sunday afternoon so we booked a table and very glad we did as it soon filled up.  The menu may seem a little daunting if you aren't used to this sort of food. I started with a cocktail called 'Ezra's Green Rose' which consisted of Hendrick's, greengage jam, elderflower, Prosecco and it was delicious. It's well worth trying one of their cocktails if you ever go as they're all very different and unique like nothing you would find in any other restaurant. For main I went for the 'Reuban' burger which was on the specials menu. It was a thick juicy burger layered with pastrami, lettuce and cheese with a side of fries and battered onions and a sauce which was a sort of tomato dip. I can't even put into words how fresh and flavourful it was, melt in your mouth goodness. My brother went for the fish finger sandwich which looked equally yum. With no room for desert there was no option than to share (ahem, kinda) we went for the cheesecake which was Vanilla with honeycomb and caramel sauce - wow!

You can find them a short walk from Covent Garden!

This place ain't no secret so definitely give them a call to book, alternatively go at a quieter time of day (11am or 3pm between lunch and dinner).
